Dual Folding Arms with Anti-Sway Cradles

Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Dual Folding Arms with Anti-Sway Cradles with HitchSwitch Lever

The Thule Apex XT has dual arms that provide excellent support for your bikes. They slope up to provide ground clearance for steep driveways and bumpy roads.

Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Hitch Switch Lever

To fold the arms down, pull up the HitchSwitch lever at the top of the mast. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And when stored in this configuration, it doesn't take up as much space in your garage.

Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Anti-Sway Cradles

HideAway anti-sway cradles with rubber straps hold your bikes firmly in place. Each set of cradles has two straps that secure your bike along the top tube and one that secures the seat post or downtube. This multi-point contact helps keep your bikes from rocking back and forth, reducing bike-to-bike contact. The soft rubber cradles rotate around the rack's arms to accommodate bikes of different styles and shapes.

Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Grooves

The cradles have grooves on the surface that prevent your brake and shifter cables from getting pinched.

Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Folding Cradles

Ratchet straps hold your bikes firmly in place on the cradles. You can remove the lower straps and fold the cradles up against the arms to make it easier to slide your bikes onto the rack.

Easy Tilting for Cargo Area Access

Thule Apex XT 2-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Tilting

The rack tilts down without your bikes loaded. This means you won't have to remove the whole rack to access your cargo area for grocery runs and other errands.

Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Lower HitchSwitch Lever

To tilt the rack down, pull up the HitchSwitch lever at the base of the mast. When you're ready to go, lift the rack up until it snaps into place with an audible click.

Tool-Free Installation and Complete Security

Thule EasyFold XT

The rack quickly installs in your hitch receiver, without the need for tools. Just slide the shank into your hitch and turn the knob until snug. Turning the knob deploys an anti-rattle wedge in the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection. It also sets the integrated SnugTite hitch pin into place, securing the rack to your receiver.

Thule Helium Pro 2-Bike Hanging-Style Rack 1-1/4

You can install the rack in a 1-1/4" hitch or in a 2" hitch. To use it in a 1-1/4" hitch, simply remove the adapter with the included Allen key.

Thule Helium Pro 2-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Locking Pin

The lock on the hand knob secures the rack to your vehicle. Once locked, the hand knob will spin freely so a would-be thief can't operate it.

Thule Helium Pro 2-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Locking Cable

The integrated cable lock threads around your bikes' frames and inserts into the lock at the end of the left arm. The cable stores inside the mast when not in use. The locks are keyed alike, so you only need to use 1 key. Additional One-Key System locks (sold separately) let you make all your Thule products keyed alike.

Available Adapter Bar

Thule Helium Pro 2-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Locking Cable

If you have a women's bike, kid's bike, or any other bike without a straight, horizontal top tube, you will need an adapter bar (sold separately) to properly mount your bike. The bar fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to create a top tube so your bike hangs level on the rack.

  • Replacement Threaded Bolt for Older Thule Vertex Bike Rack
Hey John, thanks for reaching out! Replacement bike rack parts can be a bit confusing to find, but I really like delving into this stuff and I'm pretty confident you're looking for the bolt for the older Thule Vertex bike rack, which looks similar to the newer Apex XT # TH9025XT. The exact replacement adapter and bolt parts for the Vertex are listed below: - 12 x 40 mm Hitch Bolt # 908-1240-54 - M12 Washer # 951-1224-54 - M12 Lock Washer # 956122159 - 2" Hitch Adapter # 853-7489 The...

  • Can Tilting Feature of Thule Apex XT 4 Bike Rack be Used with Bikes Loaded
When using the tilting feature for the Thule Apex XT # TH9025XT you need to first remove the bikes. The only way to keep the bikes loaded so you can gain full rear access to your 2017 Toyota Highlander is to use the Thule Apex Swing XT # TH9027XT. This is the exact same bike rack but it has an arm that swings the upright and arms out to the side of the vehicle as you can see in the attached photo.

  • What is the Purpose of M6 Screws for Thule Apex XT 4 Bike Rack
When you receive the Thule Apex XT 4 Bike Rack # TH9025XT the shank is folded up against the main mast of the rack. Those two M6 x 25 mm screws are what help to keep the shank from folding up like that again. They are more or less a security measure to help keep the bike rack from coming into contact with your vehicle so yes, you will want to install them even though you can technically use the bike rack without installing them.

  • Recommended Dual Hitch Adapter For 2017 Kia Sorento for Bike Rack and Pop-up Trailer
Your 2017 Kia Sorento has a towing capacity of 2,000 to 5,000 lbs depending on what motor and transmission you have. I recommend checking your owner's manual to make sure you are within the manufacturer's specifications. For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75908. This will give you a 2 inch opening that will allow you to use the Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver # MPG544. This will allow you to tow your...

  • Comparing the Tongue Weight Ratings of the Draw-Tite Hitches for a 2018 Honda Odyssey
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76170 which is a fit for a 2018 Honda Odyssey has a 525 lb tongue weight rating as you mentioned. Therefore, so long as you do exceed this rating then you will not have any issues with the trailer hitch deforming. If anything were to happen, you would be covered under warranty. The trailer hitch testing procedures are carried out by the manufacturers and must follow strict federal guidelines.

  • What Trunk Racks Are Compatible With 2009 Nissan Murano?
My recommendation is the Yakima FullBack 2 bike rack, part # Y02634. It is a two bike trunk rack. It weights 22lbs, it has a maximum weight capacity of 35lbs per bike, and a total weight capacity of 70lbs. It has a lock that allows you to secure your bikes to the rack, anti-sway cradles that prevent your bikes from swinging while on the road, and rubber and foam pads to protect the finish on your car. But its best feature is the vehicle specific sizing it provides. This removes the guesswork...

  • Thule Helium or Apex for Carrying 4 Bikes

  • What 4-Bike Rack do You Recommend for Putting on the Back of My Jeep Grand Cherokee?
With transporting 4 bikes, I recommend a platform-style hitch bike rack. For this route, I suggest the Curt 4 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18087. The Curt 4 has a maximum per-bike weight capacity of 45 pounds and can hold bikes with maximum tire widths of 3 inches wide. Since your bikes have alternate frame styles, I recommend a Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes # 64005 for each bike that has that frame...

  • Can 4-Bike Thule Apex Bike Rack be Used as 2-Bike Rack with 2020 Honda Accord 2020 EX
Yes the Thule Apex 4-bike rack part # TH9025XT would work great for what you are looking for. Installed in a Class I hitch that fits your 2020 Honda Accord like the Curt part # C11525 you'd be able to carry up to 2 bikes but then in a future vehicle with a higher hitch Class you'd be able to take advantage of the 4 bike capacity. Class 1 hitches can only handle 2 bikes. If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes, you may also be interested...

  • Looking For Hanging Style Bike Rack With Longer Arms For Four Bikes
Hello Todd, thanks for reaching out. If you are wanting something with longer forks or "arms" as we call them, we do have a few options that will be longer than the 22" arms on your Rola rack. First, we have the Saris Glide EX # SA774. This can hold four bikes and the arms are 25-1/2" long. Second we have the Thule Apex XT # TH9025XT. This has 28" long arms and will be the longest option we offer. That will give you quite a bit more clearance between the bikes making them easier to...

  • Do You Have a Replacement Bolt for the Anti Rattle Wheel on a Thule Apex Bike Rack
Thanks for the pictures Nic! I don't have a way to replace that bolt but I do have a solution that'll let you use your Thule Apex Bike Rack like item # TH9025XT. You'll need to drill a 1/2" diameter hole through the shank where it connects to your hitch and then use the TowSmart Hitch Receiver Locking Pin w/Cap item # TS24VR.

  • Restriction for 4 Bike Carrier for Class I Trailer Hitch on 2015 Honda Fit
We get this type of question a lot. The issue is that there are two classes of 1-1/4 inch hitches which are rated for the same weight capacities, but the manufacturer puts a note on the Class I hitches that only 2 bikes can be loaded on a Class I hitch. So you technically can install a 4 bike rack, but the manufacturer will limit you to carrying 2 bikes under their warranty because of the torque the additional bike weight and position of the weight would have on the hitch. Then for each bike you'd need the Thule ProRIde XT part # TH598004-FB and you'd be set up with a roof mounted solution. • Thule Apex XT vs. Thule Camber 4-Bike Rack
Hey Joel, There are a couple important differences between the Thule Camber 4-Bike Rack # TH9056 and Thule Apex XT 4-Bike Rack # TH9025XT. One of them is indeed the locks, as the Camber does not have locks while the Apex comes with a lock for the rack as well as a cable lock for the bikes. To some that's worth the additional price, but for me the most important difference is how they install in your hitch. The Camber uses a hitch pin you have to thread in and tighten with the wrench included...

  • Saris Freedom 4 Bike vs. Thule Apex XT 4 Bike Rack
The size and weight of 4 bikes is normally quite a lot to deal...especially if you want the convenience of a platform rack. The Saris Freedom part # SA4414B however is a great compromise as it is relatively lower weight and not nearly as large. It's only about 10 lbs heavier than the Thule Apex part # TH9025XT and since you want solid support and ease of use overall the Saris is the way to go.

I went ahead and spoke to my contact at Thule, and while you can technically use a hitch extender like the Roadmaster # RM-071-75, this will void the warranty if a problem were to occur with your Thule Apex XT 4 # TH9025XT. Although, the Roadmaster provides you with 2-1/2" of length from the center of the outer pinhole to the face of the extender.
